Support
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store, and you cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. The Manage subscription row in the app's Settings screen opens those settings directly. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period or trial, and you keep access until then. To be sure you are not charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before your current period or trial ends.
How do I get a refund?
Your payment was collected by Apple, so refund requests are made to Apple, through Apple's Report a Problem page (reportaproblem.apple.com) or your App Store purchase history, and are decided and issued by Apple. We cannot reverse or refund a charge billed by Apple through the App Store.
How do I delete my account, and what is erased?
In the app, open Settings and tap Delete My Data. Deletion is permanent and happens when you confirm: your prayers (text and audio), the intention set for each, the memory of what you have brought, your preferences including your tradition, your conversation transcripts and every other record kept with your account are deleted. A few records remain, and the Privacy Policy lists every one; the main ones are consent records, with the fields that identify you removed, and subscription and billing records, which US tax and accounting law requires us to keep. Copies held by our AI providers are not deleted in the same moment: Anthropic deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, longer only for content flagged under its usage policy, and we purge the voice provider's history on an automated schedule. Backups roll over on a 7 day window. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
Is this a person?
No. Pray With Me is an AI, not a person, and the app says so at the start of every conversation. Each prayer is composed and spoken by an AI: it is not written or reviewed by a human author, a member of the clergy, or anyone else before you hear it, and the voices, Theo and Anna, are synthesized AI voices. The app offers you words to pray. It does not pray on your behalf. It is not spiritual direction. It is not a substitute for a faith community, for clergy or pastoral care, or for professional care.
Which traditions are supported?
Six: Christian, Catholic, Evangelical, Episcopal, Contemplative and Spiritual. The tradition you pick shapes how God is addressed, how the prayer closes, which fixed prayers may close it and the register it is written in. It is a preference, never a character: no clergy, no persona, and no authority claimed over you. You can change it in the app at any time.
Can anyone read my prayers?
What you write and the prayers composed for you are encrypted in transit and at rest, but Pray With Me is not end-to-end encrypted: we and our service providers can technically access your data to operate the service. No person at IRJG, the company that makes Pray With Me, monitors conversations, intentions, or prayers in real time, and when we administer or repair the service we limit each session to the data reasonably necessary for the task at hand. Two AI providers process what you bring: Anthropic, to carry the conversation and compose the prayer, and ElevenLabs, to speak it. We never sell your data and never share it with an advertising or marketing platform.
Is anything I share used to train AI?
Pray With Me does not use your conversations, your intentions, or the prayers composed for you to train its own models. Under Anthropic's default API terms, Anthropic does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models. We have opted out of ElevenLabs' training use on our account, so the prayer text sent to ElevenLabs is not used to improve ElevenLabs' models.
Why is it only in the United States?
Pray With Me is offered on the App Store in the United States only for now. Its terms, its privacy commitments and its crisis resources (988, the Crisis Text Line and 911) are written for the United States, and we would rather open another country once they are ready for it than before.
What does the trial cost, and when is the first charge?
Your first prayer is free and asks for no payment method. After that, Pray With Me is a subscription at $29.99 a month or $199.99 a year, in US dollars plus any applicable tax, and both plans begin with a 7 day free trial for anyone who has not used one before, once per Apple ID. The trial costs nothing. If you do not cancel, the first charge lands on day eight, when the trial ends, at the plan's price; to avoid it, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial you are not charged. The subscription screen shows the trial length and the price after it before you confirm, read from the App Store, and that is the price that applies.
How do I reach a person?
Email contact@trypraywithme.com. A person answers every message, and may use an AI tool to help read and draft the reply, as the Privacy Policy describes. We are a small company, so please allow a few days. Requests about your data (a copy, a correction, a deletion) go to privacy@trypraywithme.com and are answered within the time the Privacy Policy sets. If you are in danger, do not write to us: call or text 988, or call 911.
